I slept hard and woke to sun. It isn’t often that I do that these days, when it takes awhile for the light to creep over the mountain. I crept upstairs and the girls were playing softly in the playroom. I made coffee and tended the plants while it steeped.
We began some chores, the easy ones, and waited for friends to wrap up a volleyball tournament. The moms and the big sisters met for a shopping date while the little sisters played. It’s been awhile since I’ve been shopping just to go shopping, and we got lucky with several sale items.
Denver was hot from the day well into the evening, but as we got ready to return to the mountains the sky turned dark like it might rain. It never did.
