Today was hot but with a consistent breeze. It blew my hair around in the car on the way home from an appointment, and I could hear it in the trees while I worked in the sunroom all day, trying to wrap my magazine assignments for this month.

I felt a little isolated today, and so I did something silly. I posted an Instagram story with the “Ask me anything,” sticker. I wasn’t sure anyone would ask anything, but a few people did and it was kind of fun. I often feel soured toward social media, but it has a lot of uses still: connecting, creating, sharing.

After the work and school day, we had friends over, including Trevor’s barber, Joe. He makes house calls now, so we try to round up guys who want haircuts to make it worth Joe’s trip up from Denver. Haircuts, and then burgers on the grill. Thursday night starts our weekend, and this one kicked-off well.
