Today felt exactly like a TV Saturday. Everyone slept in, and we took coffee on the deck. It was hot and sunny all day, save for one sprinkle that blew through in the late afternoon.

Trevor is building me a new compost and gardening station, and he and the girls worked on the construction all day. I took to deep cleaning the kitchen and laundry, plus a few other household tasks to keep me occupied. A Saturday with nothing scheduled is so easy to fill when you’re willing to live slowly. I find a lot of joy in domesticity on weekends. It’s real life world-building.

Meals consisted of leftovers, mostly cold pizza. We spent the late evening watching a show as a family, under blankets.
