All week long, I wanted to have a writing day, but between a busy schedule and post-sickness fog, I hadn’t been able to make it happen. Today was the day. After my morning appointment, I came home to an empty house, sat at the counter, in the living room, at my desk, working on something in each location. I wrapped an essay I’ve been working on with Suzy, submitted to a short story contest, sent a query letter. It was the energetic day I needed, and who knows which variables made it that way—the quiet, the openness, the weather, which was chilled to what we call a “warm fall day”, hinting at the weekend warm-up on the way.
