Sundays are always chores day. I was a little tempted today to reconsider that, even though my bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Everyone else in the Noel family, however, was full of motivation, so I had to join in the “fun.” It was warm outside again, and Trevor spent most of the day chopping and stacking our winter store of fire wood. I spent most of my time between the laundry room and the kitchen, and I’m wondering how this entry will hold up over time given that a lot of our family work does follow traditional gender constructs. I like laundry to be my job though—no one else folds the towels like I do.
Sunday Supper was a recreation of our favorite Amsterdam pub food: bitterballen. I’m eating gluten-free right now, which made it a bit of a challenge. But this recipe sufficed using a 1-to-1 flour substitute. Also, I air-fried them in our oven instead of actually frying in oil. The filling was incredible. Trevor made the frites and some green beans to go along. It was a very involved meal, but that’s kind of the point of Sunday Supper.
