I worked almost non-stop today. I am deadline for Serenity Magazine and catching up with other freelance clients post-vacation.

Trevor is also working from home, so we are taking turns using the sunroom office. Most of the time he sits on the deck, and thankfully the morning has been partly sunny and dry. His computer is being shipped to us, so he has to work from his phone. Everything he needs is at his fingertips.

Our digital work creates convenience, but also a sense of urgency. I had an interview stand me up today, and I’m still waiting on confirmation from another one. It seems insane to me to not get an email reply within 24 hours.

Trevor took the girls on an afternoon hike, and I appreciated the time to myself. Sometimes I don’t know how to fill it, but today I returned attention to some creative projects so they don’t fall out of my brain. It is hard to feel creative during deadline weeks.

I made a stir-fry for dinner and had it ready when they got home. After, I read from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the sunroom while it rained again. Trevor and I finished the third season of “Righteous Gemstones” before bed, and it thunderstormed most of the night.
