I have been seed cycling for my health. It is an interesting challenge, finding new ways to consume seeds. Sometimes, I question the benefits of living in a time where so much information is accessible. I’m supposed to dilute all of it into something useful for my health, but even watered-down, it’s so much information to keep track of compared to how people have historically lived. There is so much capacity for growth, but that increases the opportunities for failure. It’s a stressful conundrum.

I was exhausted today because of the show last night, and so, though I tried to be productive, it felt more like one of those days where nothing gets done besides of a lot staring into space. I had an appointment in the morning, right after coffee, so I left Calvin and Trevor to the day. Shortly after I got home, they went to the creek, but I determined to at least try to work (emphasis on try). It was sunny outside, really breezy. I got through some emails, but mostly I daydreamed and journaled a bit. I’m not calling that a waste of time.

I met them for lunch at Evergreen Brewery. I haven’t been there in ages, but we saw some old friends. Still pooped and lost in the haze of my day, I went to Starbucks for a coffee treat for my drive through Evergreen picking up children. I already had one extra kid from the elementary school. On our way to the middle school, a loose boulder near the interstate caused road blocks and major delays. I had to ask the traffic cop to let me through a barricade so I could make it to the pick-up line. I guess the buses were canceled, so I added another kid.

I laid down and watched a show when I got home, told Trevor and Calvin I needed to “introvert out.” They had picked up burgers from Butcher’s Hook and were taking care of dinner. I am trying to add meat back into my diet here and there, so I’m grateful for Lazy Acres Beef and the Butcher’s Hook—more local connections.

We all turned in outrageously early, fell asleep to the sound of the rain.
