Errands were the name of the game today, and it was a hot sunny day.

Somehow, Evergreen seemed quieter than it has been. Maybe it’s summer tourism lulling with back-to-school, or maybe, with the sun shining and the air hot, people decided to stay in. The girls and I enjoyed easily checking off tasks around town and down the hill.

We met my mom for lunch at Mod Market as a little back-to-school celebration, and I refilled on some home supplies at the Zero Market in Edgewater.

When we got back home, the internet was out, maintaining the day’s theme of quiet. I played classical music downloaded to my phone and snacked on olives while I made dinner. The girls had asked for spaghetti and “lentil” balls.

We had a family meeting in the sunroom as the sun went down, and then Trevor and I caught up over a glass of wine.
