I’m off to the mountains with my mom and sister-in-law. Today will be our warmest day before cold moves in. I’m looking forward to the break, and it also feels a touch reckless to run away when there’s so much going on. Life is a tricky balance of that, and it also feels funny to write about something so special and out of the ordinary in this space. But that’s life too.
