I don’t like meals-on-the-go, but our school mornings start early and sometimes portable breakfast is necessary. I have been making different breakfast breads, full of oats and protein. The girls asked for pumpkin, a sure sign that fall is in the air and on everyone’s minds.

It was evident today that sickness was taking over, but I didn’t go down yet. I was able to finish some laundry and some food prep—the pumpkin bread, a faux tomato soup. We had planned to have our new neighbors over for a happy hour this afternoon, but that had to be canceled.

By evening, it was cool and cloudy. We piled on to the sunroom couch to watch Sunday night football.
